Looks like Viva's web host crashed/trashed Viva's data and is not competent to get it back.

It is possible they have a backup of the data but don't know how to restore it.

It looks like we could start new threads but if they restore the database they will probably wipe out any new ones. Unless they are especially competent but, if they were we would already be restored and up running.

Right now they are probably hoping we all just go away.

It probably won't be fixed in time for the upcoming Grand Prix but we're fairly hopeful to be right for the one after it...

Hi everybody, I'm a newbie again....

Who won the prediction comp? Can we have a final round to predict the predictions?

Will the site get restored or is it start again from now?

What went wrong?

Not quite sure if we can get back to what we had, server deletes old data after 10 days apparently and they have deleted the last site backup. I have a copy of some of the data but I don't know if Mav can do anything with it, let's see what he says.

What went wrong? Hosting company told us they were closing old server and switching to new, we got just a few hours notice about the change and then when they switched us to it, it didn't work. Mav has been working incredibly hard these last 3 weeks to get the site back but I don't think either of us know if we can get the forum back as it was.

On the plus side, the blog works now. All the stats pages are active, it's just members the forum that's wonky and anyone who joined after Jan 2011 would have to join again. Of course if we do get the backup I have working, all these new comments will be overwritten.
