Kinda sad in a way. It would have been better if he'd never had to replace Massa. I do think that Ferrari need to invest in its young driver program though, they really need a reserve who can step up to the plate when needed. I still also think the total ban on in-season testing is bad, otherwise new drivers could be so much better prepared when they do start to race.

Haha someone at the FIA has a sense of humour. The organisers of the Korean GP have won an award for being the season's top race promoters. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/88657

When you consider that nobody really knew if the race was on or not until a week before, the fact that they got anybody to turn up, gamble on booking flights and hotels etc, I suppose it shows that the promoters did something right

Stefano Domenicali pays tribute to Badoer:

Quote:
"Luca has been a key element in so much of our success, thanks to a job that is so vital, even if carried out far from the limelight, consisting of thousands of kilometres, suggestions and ideas," said Montezemolo.

"I wish to thank him for what he has done and how he did it, because he deserves praise for carrying out this role with great discretion, as well as turning down race drives with other teams to stay as part of our family."

Quote:
Badoer received a Fiat 500 Tributo Ferrari plus a sculpture created from parts of all the Ferraris he has driven during his 13 seasons as the squad's leading test driver.

He got a Fiat because he couldn't be trusted not to crash a 599 GTB.

He got offers of race drives? With who? The ghost of Forti....

$150m F1 circuit proposed for... Vietnam!
http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/36442.html

Quote:
Hans Geist, linked in the past with F1 forays in Russia, Austria and Bahrain, has proposed a $150 million project to Vietnam's ministry of planning and investment. The proposal is for a Formula One circuit to be located near Nha Trang Bay in central Khanh Hoa province, according to vietnamvet.vn.

"The dynamic economy of Vietnam and tourism potential are good reasons for building a circuit here," said Geist.

He did not say when the proposal would move forwards but the report said construction would take three years.

Some changes at Ferrari next year?
http://goo.gl/fb/xRM1R
Quote:
There were suggestions in the Italian papers today, however, that some changes of personnel may be made before the start of next season, with senior engineer Chris Dyer, the Australian who is believed to have been at the centre of the decision to pit Alonso at the wrong time in Abu Dhabi, in the cross hairs.

The amount of times Kimi suffered due to poor strategy and poor setup work while he was his race engineer... NOW they want to get rid of him. (Though some of those decisions were very suspicious.)
