Quite a step back really, when you consider that they still have what's considered to be the strongest engine, more money for development (especially during the season) and a driver pairing that many would consider to be at least as strong as last year - just think how many people said Button didn't deserve his title.

I know everyone will have a double diffuser this year, but the Brawn was about so much more than just that one part. And while I accept that McLaren & Ferrari will surely be stronger than last year, I think it's pretty poor for the reigning champions to be setting their sights so low. Wonder what Norbert Haug thinks of this? Or Ron Dennis?

Odd, oor Bernie is looking at buying SAAB along with Genii capital, the group that recently bought into Renault.

Thinking ahead. Renault reportedly have an agreement to keep their name on the car for the next couple of seasons until the concorde agreement runs out. Therefore, assuming they pull this off, the team could become SAAB after that...

Red Bull over ice anyone?

That's the car obviously. To celebrate the return of F1 to Canada (was it away for so long?) Red Bull are sending Buemi out on to a ice covered circuit. 17th January may be too late to pick up a few tips for dealing with the weather on this side of the Atlantic though.
