Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro

There is much change at Ferrari as they try to forget the poor season past. Out goes former World Champion Kimi Raikkonen, in comes former World Champion Fernando Alonso. The team are talking about equality but the Ferrari hierarchy must be looking back at the Schumacher years and thinking about building a team around the Spaniard. Then there is the question of whether Felipe Massa really is fully recovered. However, despite all the movement on the driver front, will they get a car with which they can mount a serious challenge. Ferrari abandoned development of the F60 relatively early on in the season - its a decision that could be forgiven considering one driver was out of action and the other wouldn't be part of the 2010 setup. Still, could they have learnt more about where they went wrong by concentrating more resources last year?

2009 Position: 4th, 70 Points

First Driver

Felipe Massa

2010 will be Felipe Massa's fifth season with Ferrari having come out of the shadow of Michael Schumacher and established his place in the team to the point that it was 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen that made way for Fernando Alonso. 2008 saw the Brazilian come heartbreakingly close to clinching the World title on home soil, however, Felipe hasn't raced since his accident in qualifying for the Hungarian grand Prix - how will that have affected him?

Second Driver

Fernando Alonso

Finally, Fernando Alonso joins The Scuderia after years of rumour. However, it is on the back of the team's worst season for years and the team will be hoping he can inspire the team as happened when they last recruited a double World Champion. The last time the Spaniard left the embrace of Renault behind, things never worked out for him, however he has hopefully learned from that season and the journey with Ferrari will be much smoother ride.

Reserve Driver

Giancarlo Fisichella

Giancarlo Fisichella is one of the most highly respected drivers in Formula 1, but never seems to have the right team at the right time. 2005 and Renault was finally that team only to find himself alongside Fernando Alonso who won all the plaudits and two Championships. A stint with Force India culminated with a sparkling performance at Spa-Francorchamps to finish second, catching the eye of a Ferrari needing a replacement for the injured Felipe Massa.
