Plugged! Marshals, Fluidics and Some Guy Called Britney

No-one likes to see someone injured in a motorsports accident, whilst we sit in the comfort of our homes watching television we’re far removed from the danger it poses to drivers and spectators alike. Not so the marshals; these volunteers work behind the scenes making sure the event runs smoothly, yet all too often they are first on scene at an accident, risking their own safety…

Korea Gets Off To A Wet Start

The notable difference between this and last year was the air of calm around the circuit – no last minute touches added an additional air of uncertainty to proceedings. It was still as wet as the last time F1 was on the track though. With dryer weather expected for the rest of the weekend, lap times are probably irrelevant although McLaren led the way as they look to mark their 700th race with victory…

His young rival heads him 10-2 in qualifying, 9-3 come the race, contributing 71% of the team’s points haul. Yet Rosberg’s exploits seem to have gone largely unappreciated, with the focus centred firmly, and inevitably, on Schumacher.

British GP, Weekend in Pictures »

Pictures from the 2010 British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit. It was a race of mixed fortunes for Red Bull. As Mark Webber won from second, despite having an older front wing, his team mate Vettel had a disastrous start, losing the lead and suffering a puncture on the first lap. Lewis Hamilton put in another strong performance to finish second ahead of Mercedes’ of Nico Rosberg to retain the championship lead. Once again Ferrari were left angry when Alonso’s drive through penalty was compounded by the safety car …
