Twenty years ago today, a young Michael Schumacher made his Formula One début. Seven World Championships would follow, however, it may be the dealings of the night of 5 September 1991, which saw Schumacher leave Jordan for Benetton, which marked the most significant change for Formula One.

There has been a lot of discussion about the coverage of F1 in the UK moving from BBC next year to all the races being broadcast live on Sky, with the BBC coverage only showing half of them live and the rest being ‘extended highlights’.
