Renault vs Mercedes Power
Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull may have dominated this season but the power behind them certainly hasn’t had it all its own way. In fact, with two races remaining, just 29 points separate the Renault-powered teams from rival supplier Mercedes-Benz. With six cars apiece, there is plenty of time for McLaren, Mercedes GP and Force India to close the gap on a group that has become increasingly reliant on Red Bull’s dominance.

After the British Grand Prix, Renault’s lead peaked at 95 points. Since then it has slowly been whittled away, at a rate of just over eight points per race, as Renault GP went on the wane and Force India showed a resurgence. 8.25 points won’t be enough for Mercedes but it has been 15 or over in four of those races – and that would be.
Renault will say they supplied the World Championship winning duo but can they come out on top in total points at the end of the season?

I’m actually surprised that Renault have managed to keep the lead thus far considering that only two teams have added to the points tally, even then, Renault have only added 72.
