Bloggers Swap Shop – The Return!
You might have noticed that during the F1 summer vacation we tried a little experiment called The Bloggers Swap Shop where we asked people who ran blogs, and people who didn’t but who wanted to give blogging a try, the chance to write a guest post on another F1 blog. The premise was simple, we wanted to increase participation in blogging and to get people reading blogs that they maybe were not aware of… that, coupled to the fact that it was in the middle of a break from the season gave us something to pass away the time.
The first session saw nine intrepid bloggers write for another F1 site. The posts that were generated were wonderful. Perhaps it’s because it’s comfortable to write for your own place, so the idea of blogging for another site meant that everyone involved upped their game and produced some fabulous material. Judging by the comments, it seems that everyone who wrote or hosted and article enjoyed themselves too.
Now that the holiday season is over we’re hoping that more people will have the time to join in and will sign up to either write or host a post from a guest author. It’s a chance for authors to get their work seen by a wider or different audience, and the hosts get great new content for their site, so it’s a win-win situation.
So onto the plan!
If you’d like to take part all you have to do right now is make a comment below confirming whether you want to write an article, host an article or do both. Next Saturday, I’ll compile a list of all those taking part and details of the site that will publish their posts. I’ll send each author the contact details of the hosting site so that they can arrange the timing of their posts. Next week there will be a follow up post on here confirming the details of who is writing where. After that you’ll have a further week to write your post with articles published at some point in the weekend of the 4th December subject to the host site’s timetable. If all goes according to plan we’ll repeat the process every couple of weeks of the off-season with a different set of authors and hosts each time.
The rules!
Thankfully there are no rules to worry about but there are a couple of general points we would ask you to observe: All posts should be about Formula One or at least on another form of motorsport (so no posts about knitting!) and secondly, we would ask that your post is your own original material, please don’t send your host something that you have published elsewhere.
If you have any questions please feel free to drop us a note at adminATvivaf1.com Happy blogging!
Excellent, please count me in.

Hi, I’m more than happy to do it this time around as I won’t be in Italy this time
I’ll use my Northern Waffler blog as I’m upgrading Sauber Insight in time for 2011.
Cheers

I’d be happy to join in
I’d be up for writing an article for someone else’s blog and if anyone fancies doing a light-hearted F1/motorsport article for WTF1 then I’d be happy with that too

If only I could do it this time around! I’m moving countries next weekend, so don’t have time.

Awe, that’s a shame but maybe at some point during the off season you’ll be able to join in. Good luck with the move… the end of one chapter and all that.

What if an F1 driver has taken up knitting in the offseason?
Allen Wedge(Quote) (Reply)
Hehe how awesome would that be! I’m sure that’s be a perfect story for TommyB’s site wtf1.co.uk

Actually, really should offer to write something for Leigh sometime too.

I will take part!
I can promise you that my blogs will be entirely non-technical and perhaps nonsensical, but hopefully highly amusing.

I’ll take part, writing and hosting this time
I still owe Allen Wedge a post BTW – it’s all written down in my head!
