Runners and Riders for the Australian GP
Just 22 drivers line-up on the grid this season (although HRT had a habit of missing the Australian Grand Prix anyway) with several new faces amongst them as well as a shuffle of pilots between teams.
Mexico’s Esteban Gutiérrez steps up from GP2 to form an all-new line-up at Sauber alongside Nico Hülkenberg. Also graduating from GP2 are Giedo van der Garde at Caterham and Max Chilton who is joined at Marussia by Jules Bianchi who spent 2012 racing in the Formula Renault 3.5 series. At Williams, test driver Valtteri Bottas is promoted to a race seat while Adrian Sutil returns to a Force India after a year out for bad behaviour.
One thing to note about the cars this year, especially if you’re trying to separate the yellow helmets of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes (good luck TV commentators!) is that the FIA has seen fit to change the camera markings with the primary car now left unpainted (essentially black) while the second continues to be fluorescent yellow.

*Sebastian Vettel’s helmet design subject to (regular) changes
