In 1986, the Magyar Nagydíj, or Hungarian Grand Prix to you and me, took Formula One behind the Iron Curtain for the first time – a major coup for Bernie Ecclestone. Located near one of the most attractive cities in Europe, with renowned nightlife and great cuisine, Budapest often hosts some of Formula One’s biggest parties – thanks in no small part to the fact that it precedes the summer break and Sunday night heralds a well-earned rest.
