Pirelli increased the weight of the tyres for this season, with the cars undergoing a corresponding increase in the minimum weight – those weights are now locked into Formula One’s regulations. Moreover, changing the shape of the tyre is problematic as all the teams have designed their aerodynamics around the current tyres.

So, then, where they can find time to reset their car for this?!
I think the situation will be more worse, and more fires around Pirelli will be after the change done!

If a team designs a car for qualifying glory and not the race, then that's their problem, teams that designed an efficient race car shouldn't be punished for the mistakes of others.

The problem was so severe that most teams would have had to have written 2013 off at this point had change not happened. Some will anyway - it's (part of) how Brawn won 2009, after all - but with these changes, it's possible 2012 might be salvageable for at least some of the teams and some of the viewers.

Totally agree with you. I think RBR are indulging in strong arm tactics. When the Pirelli tyres worked for them and other teams were suffering, it was Newey's genius and Vettel's intelligence and innate talent that was doing the trick. Now they are crying wolf. Not fair on the other teams that are on top of the tyres.

Most of the moaning is coming from over excited fan boys who’s favourite driver isn’t winning.

Maybe but the media seems to have jumped on the bandwagon and they're a bit louder

I love Pirelli's offer to give us back processional racing if that's we want. Might be worth tweeting @PaulHembery in case he decides to listen to Martin Brundle.

You have to say, though, that the de-laminating tires seen at the last two races are a pretty disconcerting sight.

It is, but not as disconcerting as a full-on blow-out which these tyres are designed to avoid. Sure, ideally we want the metal strengthening belt AND the tread to stay attached to it but I think they're a step in the right direction.

I don't want a return to the boring processions that Bridgestone served up.

Well, still in LOVE with Pirelli!
And still believing that the team who should work to adapt to the current compounds more than changing the tyres!
