Summer Swap Shop

Twenty seven days until the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa… not that I’m counting (much!), so if you’re like me and at a bit of a loose end over how to get your F1 fix during the summer break why not have a go at the F1 Bloggers Swap Shop? The plan is simple, instead of swapping toys and games as they did in the original television series, the bloggers’ swap shop exchanges articles amongst participating websites.

It all started with one of those race edits on the Formula 1 website. Everyone has someone who inspires them. Mine will always be my teams centre back, who, no matter which team we end up playing, always is optimistic. He never criticises you if you make a mistake and is generally a massive boost to the whole team. How he isn’t the captain amazes me, but that mainly is down to the manager who hardly knows what is going on.

The Mexican grand prix in 1991 was the last time that a Porsche powered F1 car raced. In the hands of Michele Alboreto and Alex Caffi, the Footwork Porsche cars failed to qualify for most races and when they did make the start the cars wouldn’t last long before suffering reliability gremlins. It was an unfitting end to the German manufacturer tenure in the sport, with them having won three world championships in the 1980s with Mclaren. However, Porsche may be about to put all of this right.
