It’s been a while since I wrote my last “Something for the Weekend” but I’ve been so inspired by the Bloggers’ Swap Shop and the fantastic reading material it produced that I wanted to showcase some of the brilliant writers blogging about Formula One. I hope you find something to enjoy!

To start us off I have two articles about “the thirteenth team”. The FIA have yet to make their final decision on who will get that place but with the announcement due at the end of August it’s an appropriate …

It feels like ages since I last did a something for the weekend post, thanks in part to Joebob from F1Heaven being guest blogger on our last edition. There’s been so much Red Bull news this week following that accident at the Turkish Grand Prix last weekend that I want to make this particular post a Red Bull free zone. So, without further ado, what’s caught my attention this week?

I want to start by mentioning the 40th anniversary of the death of McLaren founder Bruce McLaren and a fascinating insight …

For this week’s ‘Something for the Weekend’ I’ve been asked to write about the interesting Formula One stories and sites I’ve found over the last week whilst surfing the net. First off is an interesting post from Professor Mark Jenkins about the potential return of KERS and why Sir Frank Williams’ thinks that the system should be reconsidered for next year.

I personally believe …

Something for the weekend was originally intended as a collection of links to read and while away the time during the off-season when there was less F1 news about, but I’ve quite enjoyed my root around the web looking for interesting stuff so I’ve decided to carry on reviewing great writing on non-race weekends.

Of course there was plenty to discuss after last weekends’ Bahrain Grand Prix but there was also some great original writing too. I’m starting the review this week with a very nice idea from RG at …

So here we are one week away from qualifying for the Bahrain GP and I’m wondering where all the time has gone. It’s been an exciting week with the demise of USF1 and Campos Meta being sold on, giving us an unfortunate acronym for a team. HRT F1, I hope it doesn’t end up being as slow as a granny on hormone supplements.

But apart from the headline grabbing news there have been some fabulous blog posts covering a pretty wide range of topics; so without further ado, onto the good …
